I believe the key to healing is not just knowing what happened but transforming how the mind, body, and soul still remember it. Most of all, healing is an act of accepting, reclaiming, and being able to love our most wounded and rejected young selves.
There are things I have experience of trauma from my clients and training that has, taught me what always to say and what never to say, and helped to validate or disprove what the experts and theorists were claiming. understand why the parts only hear “the bad stuff”; why the messages I’ve been trying to get through to them about how safe we are now have been falling on deaf ears. understanding of what was going on in my brain and how to work with me without destabilising me. I finally get why it’s not about what happened to me so much as about what is continuing to go on inside of me.
Trauma clients need support regarding coping. being calm, feeling safe and that she no longer needs to be in protective mode takes 21 days to rewire. People who are severely affected have responses stored in their bodies so breathwork, tapping, and art are all good ways to complement what I do. Depression is a symptom of PTSD, so is losing the zest for life and being able to enjoy things. It takes multiple sessions taking each symptom back to the root cause. I address it one aspect at a time. so we can dig into the clients well-being and see what symptoms are creating issues – if its anxiety, we need to address these one at a time from my experience. We are complex beings, and PTSD is a structure of survival built around mind shattering experiences, whatever they might be. We do not know what the client’s story is, and even with the story it IS a story, but it might take time to pick the security lock, as this is about perceived survivàl. And trust, or breach of trust; your world somehow fell apart. I help clients build trust, slowly but surely from within. The head, might know it all is a response of yeaster years, but our amygdalas are needing a bit of time to let go. The memory is in a time bubble, and needs to understand that the memory, the experience, is now no longer valid. Healing the Fragmented Selves of Trauma Survivors integrates a neurobiologically informed understanding of trauma, dissociation, and attachment with a practical approach to treatment, all communicated in straightforward language. Clients will be exposed to a model that emphasizes “resolution”―a transformation in the relationship to one’s self, replacing shame, self-loathing, and assumptions of guilt with compassionate acceptance. Do you ever feel like you continually struggle with certain emotions? Do hurt, rejection, anger, and anxiety rise up in you, causing an overreaction and taking on a life of their own? Please try personal prayer, standing in faith, hypnosis but it nothing works….
If traditional prayer and deliverance hasn’t cut it, you might be dealing with soul fragments. When we experience a traumatizing event, part of our coping strategy is to wall off a little piece of ourselves in order to contain that emotion. We then go on with life. A fragment is that part of you that’s been locked away, inaccessible to healing, at least to the usual methods.
We aren’t going to beat the drum for repentance and forgiveness although those are beneficial and necessary. Instead, we have made every effort to tell you something you don’t know so that you can fill in your missing pieces. We will go to the root cause for understanding.
But let’s be honest. Going into the depths of your soul might seem a little scary. After all, you did shut that door for a reason. The whole prospect of working with fragments might feel over your head. Don’t worry, we explain in plain English a variety of techniques and exercises with loads of real-life examples, and Jesus does all the work. You don’t have to relive your trauma, remember any complicated protocol, or feel like you’re losing control.
